Register Committee meets in Brussels
The EQAR Register Committee (RC) was in town on 17-18 November, discussing applications, substantive change reports, the ESG revision process, the revision of EQAR Procedures for Applications and the Policy on the transition to the revised ESG in 2027.
The Register Committee found the following agency substantially compliant with the ESG and thus approved their application for renewal on the Register:
-
MusiQuE – Music Quality Enhancement
MusiQuE reports in DEQAR
The RC elected Eltjo Bazen as Vice-Chair of the Register Committee. Congratualtions to Eltjo, who has served on the Committee since 2019.
This was also the first time that our newly appointed RC members, Rihards Blese, Esther Huertas Hidalgo, Geneviève Le Fort, Petri Mäntysaari and Liv Teresa Muth were present in their capacity as members of the RC. We look forward to a fruitful cooperation and lively exchanges with both our new and long-standing RC members.
The next Register Committee meeting will take place online, on 23-24 March 2026.

Publication of the revised EQAR Procedures for Applications
Over the summer, the Register Committee conducted internal and member-wide consultations to revise EQAR’s Procedures for Applications—the binding regulations for the application process. Following these discussions and in accordance with the EQAR Statutes, the Register Committee formally adopted the revised Procedures during its November meeting.
The updated document includes several key changes:
- Deadlines: clearer timelines for submitting applications and external review reports
- Additional Representations: defined deadlines for providing additional representation
- Focused Reviews: clarification on the scope of focused reviews, clarification on the timeline for completion of focused reviews and eligibility criteria for applicants
- Re-application: explicit timelines regarding when an applicant may re-apply following a rejection for initial registration

EQAR self-evaluation surveys
EQAR follows a 5-year cycle for regular self-evaluations, with an external evaluation following every second self-evaluation, i.e. every 10 years. Since the last external evaluation took place in 2021, EQAR is now preparing a self-evaluation, coordinated by the Self-Evaluation Group (SEG) that was set up at the General Assembly in February 2025.
The SEG agreed on the evaluation methodology and scope, identified three key evaluation questions, and selected a range of tools and methods to address them effectively (including desk research, focus groups, and a SWOT analysis). One of the primary tools is a set of feedback surveys tailored to different bodies and stakeholder groups.
These surveys have now been finalised and will be disseminated to the relevant target groups shortly.
The surveys will close in February 2026, after which a series of focus groups will review and discuss the findings. These discussions will inform the preparation of the first draft of the Self-Evaluation Report. The final version of the report is expected in September and will subsequently be presented at the Members’ Dialogue in October/November 2026.
